Established in Milan in 1985 by Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, the Dolce & Gabbana brand has since built a strong presence in the luxury fashion market.
In 2016, Japanese group Shiseido signed an exclusive global licensing agreement regarding the development, manufacturing and distribution of Dolce & Gabbana fragrance, makeup and skincare products. But in 2021 it announced it would be partially ending the licensing agreement in December 2021.
