Winter skin Rx

Our bodies take a beating during the winter months thanks to harsh environmental elements like dry air and excess heat, constant hand washing and moisture sapping soaps. We want you to emerge from the coldest of seasons with smooth, healthy and radiant skin.
There are certain steps one can take to prevent and treat some of the uncomfortable symptoms of dry skin. Try washing your clothing in mild detergents and avoid bleach and fabric softeners. Avoid exposure to allergens and irritants, which will make you more itchy. Use warm water when you shower as hot water draws moisture out of the skin. And, don’t forget to moisturize.

1. Vaseline Intensive Rescue Clinical Therapy Skin Protectant Body Lotion
Dr. Julia Carroll, Toronto-based dermatologist, recommends, “moisturizing when you get out of the shower and you are still wet.” This will lock water in and decrease redness and dryness associated with winter months.
This new lotion from Vaseline is designed to alleviate symptoms of very dry skin like tightness, cracks, scales and flakes. It provides instant relief, protects for up to 24 hours, and helps extremely parched skin recover. We love that it is unfragranced and really sinks in quickly.
