CoverGirl

CoverGirl is an American cosmetics brand.

  • Parent company: Coty
  • Founded by the Noxzema Chemical Company in Maryland in 1961.
  • It was acquired by Procter & Gamble  (P&G) in 1989
  • In 2016, Coty purchased CoverGirl from Procter & Gamble for $12.5 billion. The deal included 41 other beauty brands, such as Clairol, Gucci, Hugo Boss, Lacoste, Max Factor, and Wella. The acquisition made Coty the third largest cosmetics seller in the world.

Coty has been working to improve the brands it acquired from P&G. CoverGirl's Clean Fresh Face Makeup and Lash Blast Clean Mascara have helped the company become the second largest seller of "clean" cosmetics.
